The people of Highlands are involved in the followign community missions:
Recover Wyoming is a non-profit organization providing recovery support services for addicts. Highlands provides financial assistance and some of our members serve as volunteers.
Family Promise is a network of churches providing a place to live for homeless families with children. Highlands partners with First Christian Church to serve families in the program, providing meals and volunteers.
Highlands provides thousands of dollars in food, clothing and other items to NEEDS, Inc. to support its work with low-income families.
Highlands and those who attend “Bibles and Beer” provide financial support for the Wyoming Family Home Ownership Program, a local non-profit helping low-income families in Laramie County to become homeowners.
Highlands provides financial support to Meals on Wheels.
Highlands is the “coffee partner” to COMEA, donating hundreds of dollars in coffee to the homeless shelter each year as well as gloves, warm hats and other clothing.
Highlands makes an annual Christmas donation to Save the Children for its international work to fight Third World Poverty.
Highlands is a member of and the Wyoming Association of Churches, the Cheyenne Interfaith Council and is a member of the More Light Presbyterians, advocating for full participation of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBTQ) people in the life, ministry and witness of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and in society.
